Tool Presetter without compressed air

Weinstadt, May 6th, 2024 – System manufacturer KELCH GmbH is now launching the new tool presetter KENOVA set line V244 onto the market. Positioned in the entry-level price segment, this presetter is designed for manual use without compressed air. Tailored to businesses with occasional measuring and setting processes, this compact and robust tool presetter is suitable for tools with a diameter and length of up to 400 mm and a weight of up to 15 kg each. Utilizing KELCH’s precision spindle SK50, it allows adaptation to all common tool tapers. Requiring only a power socket and being flexibly deployable at various locations, KENOVA set line V244 also serves as a useful additional device directly at the machine tool in larger businesses. KENOVA set line V244 is now available worldwide.

As the only device in the market that operates without compressed air, KENOVA set line V244 saves one of the most expensive media in machining: from the investment in compressed air systems to energy consumption and regular maintenance, high costs can accumulate in this area of manufacturing. “Our new presetter operates sustainably and saves costs,” explains Viktor Grauer, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Innovation Management at KELCH. Thus, the manual presetter without tool clamping is suitable for businesses of all sizes with corresponding applications and tools. KENVOA set line V244 is particularly suitable for areas where tool adjustments are frequent, such as prototype construction, single-item production, and niche applications. It is also a cost-efficient solution for small businesses and craft enterprises. Moreover, the presetter can be a valuable investment for repair and maintenance workshops that frequently work with various tools and parts. In educational institutions, KENOVA set line V244 is suitable for introducing optical tool presetting and measurement, as it can be operated by beginners without prior knowledge.

High Mechanical Precision
Like all devices in the KENOVA set line series, KENOVA set line V244 is compact and ergonomically designed. The base body made of FEM-optimized cast iron ensures high mechanical precision. The guide rails and steel spindle are mounted directly on the base body. “With KENOVA set line V244, we once again achieved a perfect mix of materials with as similar length expansion coefficients as possible. This avoids unwanted bimetallic effects, especially when used in non-air-conditioned rooms, and offers high precision,” emphasizes Viktor Grauer. The easy handling of the tool presetter is supported by excellent accessibility of the spindle. Additionally, the ergonomic workstation design provides ample space for tools and other work materials. With a comparatively low weight of 55 kg, the device can be easily mobilized without significant additional effort. The high precision and ease of use are complemented by the appealing fresh design in the style of the KENOVA set line series.
